Family Freak Show - Life With Siberian Huskies

Our newest family member - 8 week old Max. Max comes to us from Yukonwind Siberians and is a full brother of Ike, who's from an earlier litter.  Their mom is Rosebud and their dad is Blue.

Not having chosen a name we called him Max rather than "hey you" the day he came home with us and he picked it up. Smart little guy, comes to Max and only Max.

Chicken, Carrot and Sweet Potato Stew

This is great for dogs and people.

Ingredients:

• 4 cups of chicken broth
• 1 cup of apple cider
• 4 whole peppercorns
• 2 whole cloves
• 1 bay leaf
• 3 6-ounce boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1 1/2-inch chunks
• 3 boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1 1/2-inch chunks
• 2 sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1 1/2-inch chunks
• 1 1-pound bag of baby carrots

Directions:

• In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the broth, cider, peppercorns, cloves and bay leaf. Cover and bring to a boil.
• Lower the heat and add the chicken, sweet potatoes and carrots.
• Simmer until carrots are tender and chicken is cooked, about 20 minutes.
• Spoon out the peppercorns, bay leaf and cloves.
• Let cool slightly before serving to pets.
• Makes 4 servings.
