Rescue Dogs Are The Best!

This is my rescue dog Auggie. Auggie was abandoned by his family at age 10 for reasons he can't possibly understand. Even I can't understand it. Auggie is the perfect dog. He is a pure breed Siberian Husky with AKC registration, a good pedigree and already neutered. He was in perfect health, had his vet records, and was current on all shots.

Although a bit timid and hand shy, Auggie had no behavior problems, was well trained, not aggressive and never had any "accidents" in the house. He's kind and loving; a real snuggle pup. I just don't understand how his family was able to throw away this perfect dog. I'm thankful that we found each other and Auggie will be with me for the rest of his life. My promise to him is that he will be pampered and spoiled so much that he'll always feel more love than he's ever known in his life. Auggie deserves us, but he didn't deserve to be tossed aside after 10 years with his first family.

Auggie is a happy dog. Words cannot describe Auggie's happiness and appreciation.

This is Auggie after we had him a couple of months and finally had him convinced that it's ok to sit on the furniture. Auggie loves the furniture.

This is Auggie 7 months after he joined our family.

This is Auggie with Ike this spring. Ike was brought into our family because Spot is very old and we didn't want Auggie to be left without the companionship of another Siberian Husky when it's Spot's time to go. In this picture Ike is a little over a year old, Auggie is 10. It's amazing to see the difference in Auggie's appearance and attitude after a couple of years of good food and lots of love and spoiling. 

If you want to share your life with a dog, please avoid the pet stores (puppy mill issues). Either find a reputable breeder or consider searching for the perfect rescue dog. You won't be sorry.
